Subterranean, 2018
Wood, bronze, glass jars, acrylic paint, live plants
Subterranean is an exploration of bronze and the process it undergoes from excavating the raw materials to creating an artwork. Plaster, water and plants are also included as these materials are unfixed and changing.
I wanted to challenge myself with other materials that I don’t usually work with, such as wood and metal. I took this as an opportunity to work with diverse materials and understand their language and how they relate to other elements in space when isolated and arranged harmoniously.
